On Thursday night's (March 17) 'American Idol' results show, Ryan Seacrest teased that the winner of this season could soon go head-to-head on the charts with the Black Eyed Peas, who hit the stage to perform their new single, 'Just Can't Get Enough,' for the first time.
'This song is about love and strength and is dedicated to our friends in Japan,' will.i.am said from behind a piano before the dance track kicked in.
Fergie opened the song, sitting atop the all-white piano and wearing a white halter dress, singing the first few notes of the new track. Eventually will, dressed in a white suit, stood up from behind the piano and joined her onstage to sing, while the other Peas members, apl.de.ap and Taboo, also dressed in white, danced, sang and rapped alongside them.
Behind them onstage, string players performed, dancers twirled about and couples acted out skits. They ended the performance by jumping around and encouraging the audience to leap to their feet and clap along.
BEP have been doing their best to help relief efforts in Japan. The song's video, which premiered on Wednesday, was also dedicated to the embattled island nation, where the group shot the clip just one week before the earthquake and tsunami struck. At the beginning of the video, this message runs across the screen: 'Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the people of Japan. We love you.'
This wasn't the first 'American Idol' appearance for the Black Eyed Peas."
